Technical Visit to the Air Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA)

Programme Highlights:
The AAIA, under the Transport and Logistics Bureau, is an independent authority responsible for conducting aviation safety investigations in accordance with ICAO Annex 13. Its mission is to enhance aviation safety by: Conducting independent investigations into aircraft accidents and serious incidents;

Proactively collecting and analysing aviation safety data;

Identifying potential hazards before they escalate into safety concerns.
This technical visit provides participants with a rare opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Hong Kong’s accident investigation framework, facilities, and methodologies, including:

A briefing on AAIA investigation regime, legislative framework, and key technical procedures;

A guided walk-through of AAIA’s hangar and equipment facilities.

Language: Cantonese supplemented with English

Registration & Enquiries:

  • Participation is limited to 25 participants.
  • Prior registration is required. Priority given to previous applicants who registered for the technical visit on 15 May 2026 but were not selected.
