HKCEC is the feature of Hong Kong Harbour in new millennium and is regarded as the symbol of Hong Kong, locally and internationally. It is the venue for historic occasions of handover of sovereignty in 1997. There is a unique large span-wing shaped roof structure and it taken only 3 years from reclamation to completion.

Seemingly complex roof profile composed of simple system of straight line generated curve, enabling it to be built and clasped relatively easily. There is innovative lifting and launching method for erection of roof trusses.
