International Commerce Center (ICC) is the centerpiece of the MTR Kowloon Station Development. At 484m high, the 118-storey tower becomes Hong Kong’s tallest building and currently the fourth tallest in the world.

The building houses exclusive grade-A offices and a world-class hotel at the top. It boasts stunning 360° views of the Victoria Harbour. Facing the challenging ground conditions, the design engineers chose shaft grouted friction barrettes as the foundation system which provided the satisfactory load carrying capacity.

ICC has also set new benchmarks for tall building construction in Hong Kong. The main structural skeleton is formed from a high strength and high modulus concrete core wall and external mega-columns to enhance the tower’s overall stiffness.

ICC and the Two International Finance Centre Tower (420m, also design-engineered by Arup) on the opposite shore have formed a stunning gateway across the Victoria Harbour, adding a fresh dimension to the city’s skyline for the 21st century.
