Introduction

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), EU’s new framework for data protection will come into full force on 25 May 2018 and will overhaul the way the companies handle and process personal data. The GDPR applies to the personal data of a natural person who is in EU.

The law not only applies to organizations in EU, it also applies to all companies processing and holding personal data in EU, regardless of their location.

When the GDPR comes into effect, all companies, based inside Europe or not, have to comply with the Regulation if they collect, store, and/or process any personal data in EU.
