Objectives
  • To enhance engineers’ awareness of the risks and consequences of corruption and malpractices in the workplace;
  • To equip engineers with the necessary legal knowledge and practical skills to identify and handle ethical dilemmas as a defence against corruption and malpractices; and
  • To complement the “Ethics in Practice – E-learning Package for Professional Engineers” and provide an opportunity to clarify queries.

  1. The importance of professional ethics
  2. Current corruption scene and ICAC’s integrated approach in fighting corruption
  3. Case studies to discuss how to handle ethical dilemmas, e.g. conflict of interest, etc.
  4. Prevention of Bribery Ordinance with illustrative cases from ICAC investigative files
  5. HKIE/ICAC advice on practising ethics
