Introduction

In recent years, building information modeling (BIM) has been a mandated application in all large scale capital works. There is no doubt on the benefits of using BIM in project management at design and construction stages to more sophisticated BIM uses on digital fabrication and asset management. A new mandated requirement of the BIM team led by a CIC-Certified BIM manager is effective since 2021 with an aim of implementing BIM effectively in the whole project life cycle. The Government will mandate the engagement of CIC-Certified BIM Coordinator tentatively from 2023 onwards.

Distinguished speakers are invited to share their experience in pioneering BIM applications in Hong Kong and answer questions from participants.
