Introduction

Corruption in the construction industry resulting in substandard works could pose a serious threat to public safety and undermine public confidence in the quality of public works projects.  To tackle integrity risks, the ICAC proposed in the 2023 Policy Address a new initiative to develop a Project Integrity Management Framework (PIMF).  The PIMF aims to assist stakeholders in effectively managing corruption and other integrity risks which their projects are in compliance with the statutory and contractual requirements while maintaining the time, cost, quality as well as integrity of the works.  With engineers playing key roles among various stakeholders (e.g. clients, consultants and contractors), the ICAC speaker will introduce the PIMF and its key components, and explain how engineers are involved in its implementation.
