The HKIE Election Forum - 2021 Legislative Council Election Engineering Functional Constituency


For the 2021 Legislative Council (LegCo) Election to be held on 19 December 2021, the Institution is organising an election forum (the Forum) for the HKIE Corporate Members and Registered Professional Engineers (RPEs) to meet and raise questions to the candidates running for the Engineering Functional Constituency (FC) Election.


Details of the Forum are as follows:




6 December 2021 (Monday)




6:30 pm – 8:05 pm (Registration starts at 5:45 pm)








(Physical forum is for successful registrants only. The adoption of physical mode will be subject to the COVID-19 restrictions by then)  








The HKIE Headquarters

9/F Island Beverley, No.1 Great George Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong

(Participants might be arranged to sit and watch the Forum broadcast at the other rooms if the Forum venue is full)







(The Chairman of the Forum is at his own discretion conduct the Forum in Cantonese)

All HKIE Corporate Members and RPEs are welcome to register for the Forum via online on or before Wednesday 1 December 2021.

  • The Forum is not open to public.
  • Prior registration is required.
  • Due to the restrictions laid down in the Prevention and Control of Disease Regulation and the limited seating capacity at the HKIE Headquarters, only those members who have completed the COVID-19 vaccination course (receiving two doses at least 14 days prior to the Forum) will be accepted for registration to attend the Forum physically, on a first come, first served basis.
  • Participants joining the Forum physically at the HKIE Headquarters are required to submit their COVID-19 vaccination record during registration.
  • If participants fail to submit a valid COVID-19 vaccination record, they will be arranged to attend the online Forum.
  • Confirmation of successful registration will be sent to registrants prior to the Forum.
  • Participants joining the Forum physically at the HKIE Headquarters can submit their question(s) to a candidate / all candidates by filling in the Question Form available on-site from 5:45 pm – 6:30 pm on the Forum day.
  • Participants joining the Forum online can submit their question(s) via an online Question Form from 3:00 pm to 3:45 pm on the Forum day.
  • Only the Question Forms submitted within the aforementioned period will be processed.
  • Participants joining the Forum physically are required to note the following before entering the venue and throughout the Forum:
    • use the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile application;
    • present their vaccination record to the Secretariat staff for verification;
    • wear a surgical face mask properly;
    • use alcohol hand steriliser to clean their hands; and
    • take temperature.

The HKIE reserves the right to deny admission to those who fail to comply with the rules listed above.


The HKIE reserves the right to revise the above schedule and or cancel the Forum without prior notice.
