數碼港與香港工程師學會簽署合作備忘錄
協力推動創新科技 助更多工程師成為創業家
香港,2023年 5 月 12 日 – 數碼港與香港工程師學會今日簽署合作備忘錄,鼓勵更多專業工程技術人才投身創科行業,培育工程師成為創業家,攜手推動創新科技發展。合作備忘錄簽署儀式在學會總部進行,由數碼港行政總裁任景信及香港工程師學會會長卜國明工程師簽署。
數碼港行政總裁任景信表示:「我們很高興與香港工程師學會合作,透過數碼港的創業計劃包括數碼港創意微型基金,協助出色的工程意念或項目,轉化為落地的創新方案。我鼓勵工程界專才,積極善用數碼港創業平台所提供的資金及網絡,開發和實現具商業及社會價值的創新項目,為創新科技及智慧城市發展注入新動力,鞏固香港作為國際創科中心的角色。」
香港工程師學會會長卜國明工程師表示:「工程師一直在社會擔當重要角色,我們的工作跟市民日常生活衣食住行息息相關,工程師從來都是問題解決師,包括在創科落地方面。這次與數碼港的合作,一方面期望能夠充實創科人才資源,另一方面亦希望鼓勵更多工程師擁抱挑戰,享受挑戰,勇於將夢想落實,令更多特別是年輕工程師擁抱創科文化。」
香港工程師學會共設有21個專業界別,涵蓋航空、生物醫學、建造、屋宇裝備、化工、土木、控制與自動化及儀器儀表、電機、電子、能源、環境、消防、燃氣、岩土、資訊、物流及運輸、製造、工業及系统、輪機與造船、材料、機械與結構等。
數碼港與香港工程師學會將協力推動創新科技,並透過數碼港的創業計劃,鼓勵各個專業界別的工程師成為創業家,支持他們將出色的意念轉化為落地的創新方案,以解決各種社會痛點。是次合作為期三年,數碼港每年將為香港工程師學會預留最多五個「快速通道」名額,獲提名者可通過快速通道,獲得數碼港創業計劃的面試機會,若成功獲取錄,最高可以獲得五十萬元財務資助。數碼港亦將定期向香港工程師學會會員,提供創業支援、分享創業知識及成功案例,以充分利用數碼港平台及資源,支持有志創業的工程師。

Cyberport Signs MoU with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers
To Jointly Promote Innovation & Technology and Nurture More Engineers Becoming Entrepreneurs
Hong Kong, 12 May 2023 – Cyberport today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) to encourage more professional engineering talent to join the Innovation and Technology (I&T) industry, and cultivate engineers into entrepreneurs, working together to promote the development of innovation and technology. The MoU was signed by Peter Yan, CEO of Cyberport, and Ir Aaron Bok, President of HKIE, at HKIE’s Headquarters.
Peter Yan, CEO of Cyberport, said, “We are delighted to collaborate with The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers through Cyberport's entrepreneurship programmes including Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF), to assist outstanding engineering concepts translate into practical innovative solutions. I encourage engineering professionals to harness the funding and networks provided by Cyberport's platform to develop and realise innovative engineering projects with commercial and social value, injecting new impetus into the I&T and smart city development, underpinning Hong Kong's role as an international I&T centre."
Ir Aaron Bok, President of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, said, "Engineers have always played important roles in our society. Our work is vital and relevant to every aspect of citizens' daily lives, including their basic necessities. As problem-solvers, engineers are well-equipped to help transform and realise R&D outcomes in the field of I&T. In our collaboration with Cyberport, we aim to not only augment I&T talent resources, but also inspire more engineers to embrace challenges and pursue their dreams. Ultimately, we hope that more young engineers will be encouraged to embrace the I&T culture."
The HKIE covers a wide range of 21 disciplines, including Aircraft, Biomedical, Building, Building Services, Chemical, Civil, Control, Automation & Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Energy, Environmental, Fire, Gas, Geotechnical, Information, Logistics & Transportation, Manufacturing, Industrial & Systems, Marine & Naval Architecture, Materials, Mechanical & Structural etc.
Cyberport and the HKIE will work together to promote I&T development. The collaboration aims to encourage engineers from various professional backgrounds to become entrepreneurs and support them in translating their outstanding ideas into innovative solutions that address various societal pain points through Cyberport's entrepreneurship programmes. This three-year collaboration will reserve up to five fast-track quota for the HKIE members per year in Cyberport's Entrepreneurship Programmes. Nominees will have a fast-track interview opportunity to the programmes and if successfully admitted, can receive up to HK$500,000 in financial support. Cyberport will also regularly provide entrepreneurial support, share knowledge and successful stories with the HKIE members, and fully utilise Cyberport's platform and resources to support aspiring engineers to kickstart their entrepreneurship journey.
