How to become a fire engineer

At the secondary education stage

At the tertiary education stage

  • Apply for an engineering programme accredited by the HKIE, with a focus on Fire Engineering or related disciplines (e.g., Building Services, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering).
  • Gain knowledge in key areas such as Fire Science, Fire Protection Systems, and Fire Risk Management.
  • Participate in activities of your tertiary institute’s engineering clubs and societies.
