From limestone, metals, minerals, metalloids, and rare earth elements to the advanced materials of today, they provide physical foundation of modern life, enabling high-rise buildings, electric vehicles, resilient infrastructures, medical breakthroughs, semiconductor technologies, and the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence.

As the world advances at an unprecedented technological pace, far surpassing previous industrial revolutions, new and advanced materials have become indispensable drivers of innovation. Materials Engineers play a pivotal role in this global race, carrying the responsibility to uphold excellence, push boundaries, and contribute meaningfully to Hong Kong’s economic and societal development.
