It is my great honour to be elected as Chairman of the HKIE Young Members Committee (YMC) for Session 2026/2027. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our past Chairmen for their remarkable leadership, and to our Committee Members, Co-opted Members, Event Coordinators, helpers, and all YMC members for their unwavering support.
Over the years, the YMC has grown into a vibrant community where young engineers can challenge themselves, broaden their horizons, and build lasting connections. This year, I am proud to share that our membership base is stronger than ever, reflecting the trust and enthusiasm of our peers. With this collective strength, we are ready to push boundaries and achieve even greater impact.
Our theme for this session is “Beyond Limits, Towards Unity.” It embodies two key aspirations:
- Beyond Limits: Encouraging young engineers to push beyond boundaries in engineering, and personal development, embrace innovation, and strive for excellence in every endeavor.
- Towards Unity: Harnessing the power of collaboration, inclusivity, and shared vision to unite our young members across diverse backgrounds and seek to strengthen YMC as a collaborative platform for the engineering community.
This theme resonates deeply with YMC’s culture of resilience and creativity. Together, we will continue to organize meaningful activities — from technical visits and seminars to overseas delegations and flagship events — that empower our members to grow, connect, and lead.
With the support of our experienced members and the fresh energy of new blood, I am confident that the YMC will rise to new heights. Every event will be enriched by your active participation, and every achievement will be a testament to our unity. I look forward to meeting you, sharing ideas, and shaping the future of engineering together.
