Call for Application for Sponsorship 5th ICTG, Toronto, Sydney 20 Nov 2024

Introduction

 

The 5th ICTG is hosted by the Transport Research Centre of University of Technology Sydney (UTS-TRC) and co-hosted by the International Society of Soil Mechanics & Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) and the Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW). The previous ICTG conferences were very successful in UK, Portugal, Japan and USA and this year moves to Sydney. There are three technical committees of the ISSMGE (TC202-Transportation Geotechnics, TC211-Ground Improvement and TC307-Sustainability) together to launch an impactful event encompassing the challenges facing the transportation infrastructure worldwide.

 

The Conference will aim at promoting concepts and applications predominantly in the fields of transport infrastructure design, ground improvement, sustainability and circular economy perspectives, and natural hazards mitigation. This major event will act as a platform to disseminate the most recent research and field advances to the geotechnical community around the globe through active pathways of academia and practice.

 

Invitation to Apply for Sponsorship

 

HKIE GDC is considering to sponsor up to 2 engineers to join this Event.  Subsidy on registration fee up to HK$5,000 will be offered tothesuccessfulapplicantsindividually.Toqualify, applicants shall satisfy the following basiccriteria:

 

  1. Be a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, of whatever class;
  2. Submit your current curriculum vitae;
  3. Prepare a written report on the Event.

The successful applicants may be invited by the GDC to share their experience of this Event which will be held in Hong Kong after the Event.

 

The applications will be assessed by the GDC based on the relevancy of this Event to their career development.  The successful applicants will be notified no later than 6th November 2024.
