Introduction
ARC-14 is organized by Society for Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics Malaysia (SEGRM). The organizer offer an ideal opportunity and platform for professionals from the international engineering geology and geotechnical engineering community to exchange the latest experiences and ideas, particularly on the conference theme “Engineering Geology and Geotechnics for Disaster Resilience”. In addition to the technical programs, they will organize short courses, workshops, technical visits, exhibitions, as well social programs. The sub-theme covers
- Site Characterization, Field & Laboratory Testing and Problematic Grounds
- Geological Hazards (Landslides, Earthquakes, etc.)
- Engineering Geology and Geotechnics in Wet Tropical Terrains
- Tunneling for Infrastructures and Underground Facilities
- Marine Engineering Geology and Offshore Geohazards
- New Technology in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics including Renewable Energy
- Special Session on ‘Landslide Hazard and Risk Assessment’ and ‘Geoscience and Engineering Roles in Community-Based Disaster Risk Management’
Invitation to Apply for Sponsorship
HKIE GDC is considering to sponsor up to 3 engineers to join this Event. Subsidy on registration fee up to HK$3,000 will be offered to the successful applicants individually. To qualify, applicants shall satisfy the following basic criteria:
- Be a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, of whatever class;
- Submit your current curriculum vitae;
- Prepare a written report on the Event.
The successful applicants may be invited by the GDC to share their experience of this Event which will be held in Hong Kong after the Event.
The applications will be assessed by the GDC based on the relevancy of this Event to their career development. The successful applicants will be notified no later than 2nd February 2024.
