Introduction
The 5th International Conference on Geotechnics for Sustainable Infrastructure Development will be held on 14 and 15 December 2023, at the National Convention Center (NCC) in Hanoi, Vietnam.
GEOTEC HANOI conference series is started from October 2011. The latest event GEOTEC HANOI 2019 was held in November 2019 with a record of more than 800 participants from 37 countries and territories with 186 papers published by the international publishing Springer. At the conference in this year, the keynote-lectures will be given by Prof. Alessandro Mandolini (Italy) for deep foundations, Prof. Giulia M.B. Viggiani (UK) for underground spaces, Prof. Rainer Massarsch (Sweden) for ground improvement, Prof. Antonio Gens (Spain), Prof. Mitsu Okamura (Japan), and Prof. Richard Jardine (UK). The special invited lectures will be also given by Dr Marc Ballouz, ISSMGE President, and Prof. Keh-Jian Shou ISSMGE vice president Asia.

Invitation to Apply for Sponsorship
HKIE GDC is considering to sponsor up to 3 engineers to join this Event. Subsidy on registration fee up to HK$3,000 will be offered to the successful applicants individually. To qualify, applicants shall satisfy the following basic criteria:
- Be a member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, of whatever class;
- Submit your current curriculum vitae;
- Prepare a written report on the Event.
The successful applicants may be invited by the GDC to share their experience of this Event which will be held in Hong Kong after the Event.
The applications will be assessed by the GDC based on the relevancy of this Event to their career development. The successful applicants will be notified no later than 20th November 2023.
