We are thrilled to share that the technical site visit to Tung Chung East Reclamation and Associated Infrastructure Works was a tremendous success, organized by HKIE – Geotechnical Division! The construction team provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s background and its current progress. Valuable insights were shared into the challenges faced during construction, with a focus on geotechnical aspects such as deep cement mixing, reclamation, DCM retaining walls, and the ELS system for the construction of underground facilities and eco-shoreline. Following the informative presentation, participants embarked on a guided tour of the construction areas, immersing themselves in the project’s execution and gaining firsthand experience and knowledge. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the client, CEDD and the Resident Site Team, AECOM for their support and arrangement of the technical visit and to our members for their active participation.
