The HKIEGD successfully organized a technical visit to the Boardwalk underneath Island Eastern Corridor on 9 Dec 2023. We were excited to explore the 2.2 km long Boardwalk connecting Causeway Bay to Quarry Bay. During the visit, our participants had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into various geotechnical aspects, such as marine bored piles, marine pre-bored rock-socketed steel H-piles and boardwalk deck installations. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Civil Engineering and Development Department of HKSAR for their unwavering support, to the Consultant, Meinhardt for their invaluable experience sharing, and the Contractor, IEC Boardwalk JV for their exceptional execution of the project.
