The HKIE Geotechnical Division organised an overseas technical visit to New Zealand from 4 – 8 March 2019, with the support form the Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme under the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau. This year, the visit is aimed at enriching Hong Kong engineers’ knowledge on construction innovations, such as artificial intelligence, BIM, automation, drone photography, and smart technologies applied to infrastructure projects in Auckland and reconstruction for earthquake resilience after the 2011 Christchurch and 2016 Kaikoura earthquakes.
