This Monday (26 Jun), the HKIE Geotechnical Division held the 35th Anniversary Grand Award Presentation Ceremony at the Cordis Hotel. It is also the very first HKIE Geotechnical Project Excellence Award. Merit and Winner Awards for Tunnel & caverns, slope works and ground engineering categories were presented to recognise the technical excellence in planning, design, and construction of geotechnical works in HK. Last but not least, six categories of geotechnical awards/scholarship schemes were presented, including the Ringo Yu prize for best PhD theses, Fugro Prize for outstanding geotechnical projects by young engineers, AECOM Prizes for best engineering students and final year projects, LPM Contractor Scholarship for undergraduate students, and Outstanding Services Awards for Young Members.
