The HKIE Geotechnical Division 42nd Annual Seminar was successfully held on last Friday (13/5), attracting over 700 local and overseas participants. Under the theme of “A New Era of Metropolis and Infrastructure Developments in Hong Kong – Challenges and Opportunities to Geotechnical Engineering”, this Annual Seminar provided a platform for the practitioners and academia to shared their insights and generate ideas for further enhancing our capability and engineering practice to shape the new future of Hong Kong. Over 40 technical papers have been received, covering a variety of geotechnical topics relevant to the theme. We would like to thank all the speakers and authors for their valuable time and contributions. This year, we introduced a new session called “GED Talk”, with the aim of including more quality papers for sharing at the seminar through a series of short but inspiring presentations. We hope that the participants would find the event fruitful and stimulating. Again, thanks for members’ active support and participation.
