To promote civil engineering and geotechnical engineering and provide guidance for students in making their career planning, Discovery Series: Becoming an Engineer 2021 was successfully held on 25 September 2021 with about 200 students participating online and in-person. The event aimed at introducing senior secondary school students to civil engineering and geotechnical engineering and assisting them on JUPAS/UCAS selection and further career planning. Young and experienced practising engineers, university professors and members of the HKIEGD Committee also participated as coaches to offer their valuable experience and insights to the students.
