Engineered for Sustainability: Hong Kong’s Contribution to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) stand as a universal call for concerted efforts to combat global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice. In an era where the significance of sustainability grows ever more apparent, engineers are infusing sustainable practices into their work and leveraging expertise to develop solutions that meet present demands while preserving the planet for generations to come.

Designed to be a living document, this publication’s first edition published in November 2024 showcases 40+ engineering projects spanning the public and private spheres, and showcasing fruitful cross-sector collaborations.  This publication aims to deepen understanding of UNSDGs in the industry and wider society, and inspire collaborative efforts and active participation from all stakeholders to support sustainable development.
