PREPARATORY SEMINAR FOR THE HKIE STRUCTURAL EXAMINATION (WRITTEN EXAMINATION)
We are pleased to announce that a Preparatory Seminar will be organised to help candidates prepare for the upcoming HKIE Structural Examination. The speakers will be the Chief Examiners of the Written Examination. Details of the Seminar are as follows:

For candidates who wish to attend the Seminar, please click here to register on or before Thursday, 8 October 2026.
The Seminar is open to all, with priority given to candidates who have applied for the Written Examination 2026. Due to limited seating capacity, registrations will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.
All registrants will receive an email confirmation on 14 October 2026. A list of successful applicants (with personal information masked) will also be published on this webpage.
Please note that successful registration for the Seminar does not imply successful application for the Structural Examination. Eligible applicants for the Examination will be informed of a detailed examination schedule three weeks before the date of the Examination, which will be held on 19 November 2026.

APPLICATION FOR THE HKIE STRUCTURAL EXAMINATION
THE HKIE STRUCTURAL EXAMINATION
The Institution is pleased to announce that the upcoming Written Examination of the HKIE Structural Examination will be held on Thursday, 19 November 2026, at the Grand Ballroom, Hopewell Hotel.
The HKIE Structural Examination features the following structure:
- It consists of two parts: (a) a Written Examination and (b) an Interview.
- The Written Examination consists of two sections in the form of (a) Multiple Choice Questions (one hour) and (b) Design Questions (six and a half hours).
Note: Passing the Written Examination is not a prerequisite for taking the Interview, or vice versa.
APPLICATION DEADLINE
First-time candidates: Candidates must submit their completed application form and the required fees to the HKIE either by post or in person no later than 7:00 PM on Monday, 31 August 2026.
Resit candidates: Candidates are reminded to observe the specific resit deadline stated in their previous result letter. The completed Application Form for Resit must be submitted to the HKIE either by post or in person on or before their individual resit deadline, or by 7:00 PM on Monday, 31 August 2026, whichever is earlier.
Applications that do not reach the Institution by the above respective deadline will strictly not be considered.
