The Institution has issued the HKIE Guidelines on Electoral Affairs in respect of the 2026 Election Committee Engineering Subsector Election. Members are invited to read the Guidelines, which set out the arrangements and restrictions to uphold the Institution’s impartiality and the principle of fair and equal treatment of all candidates.
The Guidelines cover the use of the HKIE’s name and logo, publications and official communication channels, premises and resources, as well as arrangements for any HKIE-organised election forum and the handling of media enquiries.
Members are particularly reminded that requests to use their HKIE office titles together with the Institution’s name to express support for a candidate will not be acceded to. Any support expressed in a personal capacity must not imply that it represents the views of the Institution or any of its Divisions or Committees.
All members, particularly office bearers and those involved in organising institutional activities or managing official communication channels, are requested to familiarise themselves with the Guidelines and observe the applicable requirements.
