(香港，二零一八年六月二十三日) 香港工程師學會 (下稱「學會」) 於今天假香港中央圖書館舉辦「港珠澳大橋設計與建造的挑戰」研討會。是次研討會由香港特別行政區政府路政署支持舉辦，以「大橋通三地 工程創新猷」為題，旨在深入探討港珠澳大橋在設計和建造方面使用的技術和挑戰。
學會上任會長陳國璋工程師及主禮嘉賓香港特別行政區政府運輸及房屋局局長陳帆工程師分別於開幕典禮上致辭，其後香港特別行政區政府路政署主要工程管理處處長(專責事務)江大榮工程師發表了主題演講，介紹港珠澳大橋工程的挑戰。
是次研討會邀請到多位專家講者出席，從多方面進行分享和交流。講者包括(依英文姓氏順序排列)港珠澳大橋管理局安全環保部副部長戴希紅先生、Aedas主席及全球設計董事紀達夫先生、香港寶嘉建築有限公司董事總經理鍾偉賢工程師、奧雅納工程顧問助理董事關志輝工程師、YWL耀華工程顧問公司董事長梁耀華工程師、荷蘭隧道工程諮詢公司(TEC)駐中國首席代表李英博士、AECOM亞洲環境工程副總裁麥偉隆工程師、中國建築國際集團有限公司執行董事、副總裁潘樹杰工程師、寶嘉–中國港灣–威勝利聯營工程項目總監(港珠澳大橋 – 香港接線(合約編號 HY/2011/09))潘偉光先生、港珠澳大橋管理局總工程師蘇權科先生，以及港珠澳大橋管理局局長朱永靈先生。
會上舉行了兩場專題討論，分別由香港大學土木工程系系主任區達光教授、工程師，及香港理工大學土木及交通工程講座教授及土木及環境工程學系系主任林興強教授、工程師主持，講者踴躍參與討論，分享多方面的見解和知識。
研討會吸引了約二百名參加者，反應熱烈。透過是次研討會，各與會者加深了解如何應用創新技術以應對建造港珠澳大橋工程時所面對的挑戰。

(23 June 2018, Hong Kong) The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) organised a Technical Seminar on “Design and Construction Challenges of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge” today at the Hong Kong Central Library with the support of the Highways Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government. The theme of the Technical Seminar is “Linking 3 Cities with Engineering Innovations”, and it served as a platform for in-depth understanding for the engineering professionals of the challenges in design and construction techniques of the Bridge.
The Opening Ceremony commenced with a welcome remark given by Ir Thomas CHAN, Immediate Past President of the HKIE and an opening address by the Guest of Honour, The Honourable Ir Frank CHAN, Secretary for Transport and Housing of the HKSAR Government. After the Opening Ceremony, Ir Raymond KONG, Project Manager of Major Works Project Management Office (Special Duties) from Highways Department of the HKSAR Government delivered a keynote address to introduce the background and the construction challenges of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.
The Technical Seminar invited various speakers to share insights from different perspectives. The speakers were (in alphabetical order of surname) Mr DAI Xihong, Deputy Manager of Safety and Environmental Protection Department in Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority; Mr Keith GRIFFITHS, Chairman and Global Design Principal of Aedas; Ir Wes JONES, Managing Director of Dragages Hong Kong Limited; Ir Samuel KWAN, Associated Director of Arup; Ir LEUNG Yew Wah, Managing Director of YWL Engineering Pte Limited; Dr LI Ying, Chief Representative in China of Tunnel Engineering Consultants; Ir Bevis MAK, Vice President of Environmental Engineering, Asia Operation of AECOM Asia Company Limited; Ir PAN Shu Jie, Executive Director and Vice President of China State Construction International Holdings Limited; Mr POON Wai Kwong, Project Director, Contract HY/2011/09 Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Link Road of Dragages-China Harbour-VSL Joint Venture; Mr SU Quanke, General Engineer of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority; and Mr ZHU Yongling, Director of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Authority.
Two panel discussions were guided by Ir Prof Francis AU, Professor and Head of Department of Civil Engineering of The University of Hong Kong, and Ir Prof William LAM, Chair Professor of Civil and Transportation Engineering and Head of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University respectively, during which a valuable exchange of ideas and knowledge was facilitated.
The Seminar was well-attended by some 200 participants with overwhelming responses. Through the Seminar, the participants’ understanding of the engineering innovations applied in tackling the technical challenges of the construction of the Bridge has been deepened.
