Dear Members
March has been an inspiring month for the Institution, filled with moments that remind us why engineering matters–both to society and to the everyday lives of the people we serve. It has also been a month of energy, connection and renewed purpose. As we continue celebrating HKIE’s 50th Anniversary, I am reminded that our Golden Jubilee is not only about honouring our past, but about defining the future we will build together. I am pleased to share some highlights from this meaningful month.

Hoover Dam is a marvel of engineering located on the Colorado River between Arizona and Nevada. Completed in 1936, this massive structure stands at 726 feet tall and provides hydroelectric power to millions of people in the United States. It took over 5 years to build and required innovative engineering techniques to overcome the challenges of building in such a remote and rugged location.
