Dear members

Presidential Visit to the UK 2025

International Conference and Cocktail Reception

There are two major events during the Presidential Visit to the UK this year and members are invited to participate.

On 4 November 2025 (Tuesday), a cocktail reception will be co-organised with the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London.  The purpose of the event will be for the HKIE President and the delegation to meet with HKIE members residing in the UK, as well as the local engineers, engineering students, members and colleagues from kindred societies for networking.  It is also a fantastic opportunity to share Hong Kong’s latest developments and their significance, which would be of interest to those who are considering coming to the city for work or investment opportunities.  The Reception will be held from 18:00 to 20:00 at the Court Suite, JW Marriott Grosvenor House, 86-90 Park Lane, London.  Interested parties please sign up here.  Both HKIE members and non-members are welcome.

On 5 November (Wednesday), an International Conference will be held at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) at One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, London.  The theme of the conference is “Engineering the Future”.  Distinguished speakers from IMechE, ICE, IET, CIBSE and EI will explore the transformative power of engineering in shaping a sustainable and technologically advanced world.  We also have the honor of having Ir Michael Fong, Director of Civil Engineering and Development, CEDD, joining us as one of the speakers to share his perspective from a Hong Kong context.  The line-up of speakers can be viewed here.  The conference will be conducted in a hybrid mode (UK time 09:30 – 12:30 / HK time 17:30 – 20:30) therefore members outside of London are most welcome to join.  Do not miss this fantastic opportunity to connect with thought leaders and seasoned engineering professionals and hear their insights on this topic.  Click here to sign up.

We look forward to your participation in these events.
