Engineering Excellence Meets Football Fever in Guizhou
From 18 to 20 September 2026, the HKIE Task Force on Communal Sports and Social Service (TFCSSS) delegation embarked on an incredible 3-day journey to Guizhou for the exchange tour “黔港大國工程考察暨足球交流”, organised by China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited. The trip combined a football tournament and visits to world-class mega-infrastructure projects.
The HKIE Football Team secured 2nd Runner-Up at the tournament “黔港之夜村超足球比賽” in Rongjiang County (榕江縣)! Competing against local Village Super League (村超) teams and industry peers, our team delivered an impressive display of teamwork, grit, and sportsmanship.
The delegation also visited the breathtaking Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge (花江峽谷大橋). This technical visit provided first-hand insights into the engineering marvel, including : 
Complex high-altitude suspension rigging Aerodynamic stability and wind engineering Structural health monitoring and steep-terrain logistics
The tour offered a valuable platform for fostering camaraderie through sportsmanship and technical exchange between Hong Kong and our Chinese Mainland counterparts. We look forward to further strengthening our fellowship on future occasions.
